Trifold Gift Card Holder

Hi this is Maria. Today we’re making a trifold gift card holder for my son, but I had a dilemma. All I have is flowery paper. Oh no! No worries, we will cover the flowers! I’ll show you how to make a feminine and a masculine gift card holder.

Measurements:

  • Hues of Happiness DSP 4 x 12 in
  • Night of Navy 3 ¾ x 2 ¾ in (cut three)
  • Basic White 3 ½ x 2 ½ in (cut two)
  • 16 inches of ribbon
  • Scrap of Basic White
  • Scrap of Night of navy

Instructions:

Cut your paper to size. Set the DSP on the Simply Scoring Tool. On the long side of the DSP, score at 3 in, 6 in, and 9 ⅛ in. Go ahed and burnish all the score lines.

Find the smallest piece, that is the front cover. On the other end of the DSP , make sure you have the 3in end. Use the track on the Paper Trimmer to cut a diagonal line from the crease to about an inch from the outer corner. Make sure you start the cutter in the middle of the paper. Then cut up and down to make sure you don’t get any paper snags.  This is the flap that will hold the gift card.Today we’re making a trifold gift card holder for my son, but I have a dilemma. All I have is flowery paper. Oh no! No worries, we will cover the flowers! I’ll show you how to make a feminine and a masculine gift card holder.

Use a corner rounder to round the outer corners of the DSP. Next we do our best to hide the flowers on the inside of this card. Use liquid glue to attach the Night of Navy pieces onto the solid pieces on the inside of this card. Do not cover the one cut diagonally.

Stamp the sentiments from the Celebrating You Stamp Set onto the Basic White pieces. I used “You’re on my mind and in my heart”, and “Happy Birthday” on the inside. Leave space to write under the sentiment on the panel in the center. Attach these onto the Night of Navy pieces already on the card. Next use liquid glue on the lower edges of the diagonal piece to secure that panel down. Now you have a trifold card. We have successfully covered most of the flowers.

On the front, use the Double Oval Punch to cut a scallop oval from the scrap of Night of Navy, and a basic oval from then scrap of Basic White.  Stamp “Just for you” onto the white oval. Use liquid glue to secure that onto the scalloped oval. Use Stampin Dimensionals to secure that onto the front of the card. Finally, use the ribbon to create a belly band to close the card with a bow. What a great gift cart holder!

What if you want to show off the patterned paper? Simply cover only one panel on the inside with the sentiment panel, and you will show most of the paper.
