Masculine Card – Whiskey Business – Water Color Pencils

Hi this is Maria. Today we’re making a a masculine card using the Whiskey Business Stamp Set and Water Color Pencils. I used a blender pen to create a beautiful color blend. I find it so relaxing to sit and color. This is a great card for the guy in your life, or the lovely lady who likes a good strong drink!

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake Card Stock: 8 ½ x 5 ½ in, folded in half
  • Early Espresso Card Stock: 3 ½ x 4 ¾ in
  • Early Espresso Card Stock: 3 ¼ x ¾ in
  • Day at the Farm DSP: 3 ¼ x 4 ½ in
  • Basic White:  3 x 3½ in
  • Basic White:  3 x ½ in
  • Burlap Ribbon: 13 in

Instructions:

  1. Cut your paper to size.
  2. Use StazOn Black Ink to stamp the decanter and glass onto the 3 x 3 ½ in Basic White.
  3. Use StazOn Cleaner to clean your stamps.
  4. Shade in the liquid on the stamped image using these water color pencils: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze. Start with the lightest color and work to the darkest. I only put the dark colors lightly in the corners of the image, and very lightly throughout the image to achieve a blended color.
  5. Use a Blender Pen to blend the colors from light to dark, then lightly blend the dark into the light colors. Add color if necessary until you are happy with the color blend.
  6. Try coloring both images at the same time in order to get similar results.
  7. Use Balmy Blue for the glass areas. Try to stay on the StazOn lines already stamped. You want a hint of color to mimic the look of glass.
  8. Fussy cut the images out using scissors.
  9. Use liquid glue to attach the Early Espresso to the Crumb Cake card base. I skewed mine to the side a bit.
  10. Wrap the ribbon around the Day at the Farm DSP layer, making a square knot or bow on the front. (If you forget, like I did on the video, then make a bow with long legs and use that on the front instead!
  11. Use liquid glue to attach the DSP over the Early Espresso. I kept this piece straight.
  12. Stamp the 3 x ½ in Basic White paper with the sentiment “You’re top-shelf” from Whiskey Business stamp set.
  13. Use liquid glue to attach this to the 3 ¼ x ¾ in Early Espresso piece.
  14. Use liquid glue to attach the decanter onto the DSP layer, offset to the left.
  15. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to put the glass on the DSP layer next to the decanter.
  16. Use Soft Suede Ink to stamp another sentiment to the inside of the card. I used “Straight up you’re the Best”.
  17. Use gold Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins to add a little bling to the card front.
  18. That’s it! You’ve made a beautiful card.
