Country Gingham – Birthday Card

Hi this is Maria. Today we’re making an easy birthday card using some retiring 6 x 6 Gingham Designer Series Paper. I love using colors that go together! So, we will be using a pop of color with the Real Red Ribbon (not retiring). I also like to mix and match stamp sets to get just the message I want to convey. In this case, we’ll be using “happy Birthday” from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set, and “Life is better with a friend like you” from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. Finally, we’ll put a finishing touch with Pearl Basic Jewels.  Most of these items are RETIRING soon!

Measurements:

• Basic White  8 ½ x 5 ½ in, scored and folded in half to 4 ¼  x 5 ½ in
• Country Gingham 4 x 5 ¼ in
• Basic White 3 x 4 ¼ in
• Country Gingham 2 ¾ x 4 in
• Basic White 2 ½ x 3 ¾ in
• Country Gingham ⅜ x 4 in (cut two)
• Real Red Ribbon cut 20 in

Instructions:

1. Cut your paper to size. 
2. Use liquid glue to adhere the 4 x 5 ¼ in Country Gingham onto the card front.
3. Use Mint Macaron Ink:
   1. Stamp “happy birthday” from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set onto the 2 ½ x 3 ¾ in Basic White about ⅓ of the way down.
   2. Stamp “Life is better with a friend like you” from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set centered on the inside of the card.
4. Use liquid glue to adhere the two thin pieces of Country Gingham onto the sides on the inside of the card.
5. Use liquid glue to adhere the happy birthday sentiment layer onto the 2 ¾ x 4 in Country Gingham, and then to the 3 x 4 ¼ in basic white.
6. Wrap the Real Red Ribbon around the layered sentiment and make a bow centered below the sentiment.
7. Use liquid glue to adhere that to the card front.
8. Add Pearl Basic Jewels to the sentiment layer for additional bling.
9. That’s it! You’ve made a beautiful card!
