Easy Snowdrift Card

Hi this is Maria… Welcome to Maria’s Craftroom! Today we’re making an easy intricate card. Easy with the right tools.

Instructions:

First, cut your card base to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (half of a US standard letter). Cut two pieces of your solid layering pieces at 4 x 5 1/4.

I’m using a dark blue and a shimmer card from Michales. Use what you have. Stamp the sentiment on one of the layering pieces. I’m using Twinkle All the Way stamps today. We’re using the other layering piece with the intricate die called Snowdrift. Tack it down to the cutting plate using post it notes.

I played with my sandwich to determine what shims I needed for this particular die. I prefer the Gemini die cutting machine because it is very powerful and electric. No turning handles. Less shims is usually a good thing, but today I had to add in the metallic shim. Normally, I leave that one out, but I should have known since this is an intricate die. No worries, just add a shim and send it through again. This time it cut beautifully.

Then it’s a matter of assembly. I used Tombow liquid glue to secure the die cut to the card front. The blue of the base shows through the cut shiny snowflakes. I love using that glitter card. Secure the sentiment on the inside. That’s it! Another easy card.
